Inova is committed to offering you a rewarding career that gives you the opportunity to make valuable contributions toward meeting healthcare needs and improving the health of the communities we serve. Please review the 2025 Benefits Guide and 2025 Team Member Contributions to review all the heath and insurance benefits.
You have 31 days from your hire date to enroll in your Inova health and insurance benefits. If you do not take action, you will not have any coverage, including medical (except for company provided benefits). Your next opportunity to enroll in benefits will be during our annual Benefits Annual Enrollment, held each year in the fall, unless you experience a qualifying life event in the interim.
You will not be able to change your coverage until the next Benefits Annual Enrollment period for the following calendar year, unless you experience a qualifying life event approved by the IRS and notify the Inova Benefits Center within 31 days (60 days if the change is the birth, adoption or placement for adoption of your child).
Your eligibility depends on how many hours you are budgeted to work.
Your Dependents
Your dependents’ eligibility depends on whether they meet the following general requirements.
* If you and your spouse or child work for Inova, your spouse or child cannot be covered as both a team member and a dependent. Also, you and your spouse cannot both claim your children as your dependents.
As a new team member, you can enroll in the following health and insurance benefits. Use this site to learn about these valuable benefits.
After reviewing your benefit options, make your enrollment selections within 31 days of your date of hire.
The Inova Benefits Center website will guide you through the benefits enrollment process every step of the way.
Step One
Go to the Inova Benefits Center to make benefit elections and access important forms.
Step Two
Make your selections carefully. Remember that you can only make changes to certain benefits if you have a qualifying life event, including a family change (such as having a baby or getting married) or a work status change (such as going from full-time to part-time). If the change is the birth, adoption or placement for adoption of your child, you must contact the Inova Benefits Center within 60 days of the event. For all other events, you must do so within 31 days.*
Step Three
Be sure to click on the Save Elections button at the bottom of the Review Benefits tab, print your confirmation sheet and keep a copy. You can view your benefit elections at any time during the year at the Inova Benefits Center. Log in and click My Benefits at the top of the page.
No Internet Access?
If you don’t have internet access, you can enroll by calling the Inova Benefits Center at 1-877-466-8201, Monday – Friday, 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. ET.
* IMPORTANT: Your premiums will apply as of the date of your qualifying event or initial enrollment date regardless of the date you actually make your new election during your eligibility window.
You can reset your password on the enrollment site if you know your user ID and the answer to your security question. Simply follow the instructions online to reset your password.
Your initial login user ID will be your team member ID. Your initial password will be your date of birth (MMDDYYYY). After you first login, you’ll be asked to change your password and provide a security question with an answer.
Your eligibility to enroll in a benefit plan depends on how many hours you are budgeted to work. See "Who can enroll in Inova Benefits?" section above. Only the available benefit plans will show in the enrollment system.
You must elect coverage for yourself in order to enroll a dependent. Dependent Only coverage is not available. If you plan to add a dependent to your coverage, make sure he or she is eligible for benefits. You must provide the required documentation within 45 days (60 days for newborns/adoptions) of submitting your dependent(s) for coverage. Once the required documentation is received and approved, the coverage for the dependent(s) will be effective retroactive to the benefits effective date. You will be responsible for any missed premiums between the benefits effective date and the date documentation is received and approved.
Double coverage is not permitted in the benefit plans. If you and your spouse or child work for Inova, your spouse or child cannot be covered as both a Team Member and a dependent. Also, you and your spouse cannot both claim your children as dependents.
If you have any questions regarding dependent verification, please contact the Inova Benefits Center.
